Just Another Day...

I seriously, should post more.

I just always get sidetracked, or something.

The neighbor kid is screaming again. Always screaming, a hours of the day and the night.

I woke up today to find a Hydra Munzee sitting on one of our Munzees in the park across the street. Munzee? It's a game to play with your smart phone. It is six years old so, no, it isn't like Pokémon - Pokémon is sort of like it. Pokémon is ALL virtual. Munzee has physical game pieces that are QR codes. Here are some that can be scanned from anywhere. Normally, you need to be at the location of the Munzee and be able to scan it with your phone. These three have no "location" attached to them.
Our 2nd Social Munzee

Our Referral Code
Our 1st Social Munzee

Hydras, Unicorns, Leprechauns, Dragons, Fauns, Yetis and Pegasus' are Virtual Mythicals creatures that "bounce" from Munzee to Munzee. All but, the Pegasus do this on the physical GREENIES (regular Munzees). They land and stay for up to 12 hours or until the Munzee is scanned. You get 100 points for scanning the mythicals. You get points for scanning all Munzees. You get badges, You get outdoors and you get exercise!

Yesterday I used a new item called "Magnetize". I was gifted one for free, you activate it on a Greenie Munzee and wait. Within the next hour, you can capture up to THREE of the Mythicals and the Magnet "calls them to the magnetized Munzee". That was cool and it got me within reach of our Clan War level 2 goal for the month.

On our way home from Idaho (we drove there to watch the Solar Eclipse) as we were flying down the 15 at about 80MPH, I grabbed a Pegasus! They land on Virtual Munzee. A Virtual Munzee is just that. It shows on the phone screen but has no physical QR code to scan. I was VERY lucky as my phone had been charging and I just happened to turn it on and WOW! a Pegasus was less than 3,000 feet away... wait for it - 300 feet - TAP the capture and YES! I got it!! Lucky - very lucky. Then I captured more virtual Munzee for the next hour or so. 80MPH is VERY difficult.

Go to Munzee.com for more information OR scan that referral code and get the app!
Get outside! Have fun.

Weird People

So I have this pseudo friend on Facebook, he tries to strike up conversations every time he notices me online.Mostly, I find it annoying, although there are times that I am so bored that I engage his conversations. He can't spell his way out of a paper bag (or maybe he just doesn't care - and definitely doesn't use spell-check OR auto correct). It is this trait that makes it entertaining.

Today, he asks what I "have going". I tell him, "same as always, find a Geocache
and eat yogurt and reading a book."  "Boy yu realy like that geo thing". Yes, yes I do! I feel like typing "you want to make something of it?!" but, don't want to encourage him right now.

Then he launches into the strange. Saying something about "I new it was yu al along, you hvnt changd" and then something about special diets and remembering when "us went to Walmart and yu askd for specal food". His spelling is TERRIBLE.

You knew it was WHO?
WHO do you think I am??!
WHAT special food???
WHEN THE HELL did I even EVER go ANYWHERE with this guy???

NEVER, I have not even actually met him, He CLAIMED to have gone to my high school when in reality, he went to the :new: one that opened while I was attending the one I went to.

Someone told me once that "he thinks you are Angie". HUH?! Seriously?? How the heck? WHY?

He ALWAYS is telling me about this "Angie" and how he "misses her so much it's unreal" He is always saying that. Always. He also is always "so bord its unreal".
I really don't care. I am sick of hearing the same thing every time he chats. I tell him the same thing every time too. Try Geocaching. He never does. He doesn't need to know ANYthing more about me. I Geocache. I like being outdoors. That's enough.

Mostly, I ignore him. I told him after his comments about "not changing" and the "special food" thing, that I was busy. He continued to send messages, I ignored him. He's quiet for now. But, he'll be back.

Seriously dude, we didn't go to the same school. I KNOW people who did go to the same Junior High school as you. I went to Cerro Villa, not Peralta. Unless you decide to go to a Geocaching Event where there are many of my friends AND my family... we are NEVER going to "meet up". EVER.

It's July Already

We made a Black Forest Dump Cake this past weekend - for 4th of July - first time that Dad ever actually had any - cuz it is always gone when we make it for Girl Scouts!

Using the little red wagon and box oven right next to the BBQ is funny - but, the box oven is cool - Foxhound wants to do the Vagabond and Buddy Burners - maybe this weekend - just to practice - they aren't as efficient - but, I remember making breakfast on them during camp-outs - and I remember them getting really hot and someone getting burned!

I really should be getting something ready for dinner - but - blogging is more fun - and besides everyone else in the house is either chillin watching videos - or playing games on the xBox   - why should I be "working" in the kitchen - besides - it is too warm for cooking!

Happy SUMMER!

Hoffman Homestead Trail -

with the Jewish Hikers group.

I kinda forgot about my blog - been busy and some times - thot of blogging - that sidetracked...

Anyway - today we (Sara and I) went with this group that I used to hike with often. They were heading out of O'Neill Regional Park to the Monastery at the end of Hoffman Homestead Trail - we'd never been actually IN the monastery and had heard about their shrine to the Major Religions and told Sara that I wanted to see it. http://www.vedanta.org/vssc/centers/tours/trabtrail.html for their website - It was a long hike for Sara but, she did it - and several of the adults - talked to her - one - Barbara - a professional artist from Montana - quite a bit - Sara enjoyed that.

We dodged the rain, it started several hours after we came home - beautiful cool day for the hike! and - no cougars.

Lake Tahoe for a Week!

Well most of it anyway - then to Sonoma County for a few days - gonna be another hot one I fear - but it is Vacation - and if it's hot then there will be lots of time at the pool - which I don't really like - I can't see without glasses - and don't wear contacts any more - so can't really swim in the pool :(

There might be geocaching and horse back riding too

time will tell

FaceBook and Girl Scouts!

Spent WAY too much time hunting HATCHLINGS - Way too much time...

I started a "group" for our Girl Scout Service Unit - and before it was even really ready a buddy requested to join!!

Set some more stuff up on it and sent invites to the Service Unit and - no one else :( But, it is a nice weekend - maybe in the coming week.

Went to the Orange County Girl Scout Council August kick-off this past Tuesday - Only one other person from our Service Unit went with me - funny thing - she's the buddy who is in the GROUP I started today! It was at the Kick-off that I heard to use FaceBook as the platform for the SU site - easier than setting up and entire site on my own, I was told. Boy, was it easy. Only thing is that I can make it fancy - but - the price is right - and for now - it will be great - IF I can get some response! Pictures, Events and other things can be added all right there for the group - EASY!

Tomorrow - I may have a new Daisy Leader to give Orientation to but, have not heard from her - no email replies and I don't have a phone number for her - I just have to show up - just in case - that is a bit frustrating when I don't hear anything... but - I never get tied of where I hold the Orientations - so if no one shows- my daughter and I will just enjoy the oaks for a while - and listen to the birds.

More Geocaching

Friday foxhound and I took Pidude 26 caching - there was a fire at the Fisher Plaza, the building that houses the servers for Geocaching dot com so that causes us to change how we cached. Saturday - GC was back and we came up with some caches for today - Sunday. Pidude found one called "i've fallen and I can't get up" - there are at least eight caches in that immediate area - which i told him - "if we go for that one - we have to look for htese others" "Why?" he asks - I say "If you are going to be passing them and haven't found them yet - ya gotta look for them!" and besides - one of the ATW80 caches (China) was there too -

We ended up only finding 4 of the eight - DNF'd one - decided to not bushwhack one and completely pass on two others (including "I've fallen") too steep and too hot - but we all had fun and Pidude still wants more - so that's the good thing!

the day geocaching "stood still"

so we were going to take a friend geocaching today - but a fire in the Fisher Plaza stopped the original plans - We went to an old favorite park that has two caches that we know of and found those two "letterboxing style" and PiDude26 wants to do more! hoping for the servers to return by tomorrow... we had a great day - anyway - we ran into an old Ranger friend - one we hadn't seen in over a year - one we love and we introduced her to our friend - PiDude26.... we found one "new" cache and discovered two that have been muggled since the last time we found them. he's ready for more - so hoping for the servers (all of them in the building - not just the GC one) to be restored tomorrow!

Walk in the park

Going to take the new Ranger on one of the paved road/trails today - going to see if we can get approval for a "new cache"
There is a new SERIES out too - ATW80 80 Caches in total?? one is on the road we are going on - gonna take the Ranger all the way there - first then to our site -

Met Ranger Raul and walked down the road. About a mile to a new Cache - I told him it just published and that I was certain that no one had asked to place it. As we approached GZ - there were two other people there - acting very much like Geocachers... Flashed my GPRs at them as we WERE with a Uniformed person... The Ranger seemed impressed with the entire Geocaching thing - might even look into it himself we think. signed the cache ourselves and he approved of its placement. Headed back towards the car/truck. Found the location for OUR cache and Raul watched as we placed it - came home and posted it it is active already - and about five to seven cacers have looked already!
